16th ANNUAL HURRICANE PARTY
A record number attended this year’s 16th Annual Hurricane Party. Due to catastrophic Hurricane Ike, Esther’s Seafood Restaurant in Port Arthur was destroyed; therefore, the last two years we have had to find new venues for the party. This year we chose Rockin “A” Cafe in Beaumont. |
 |
| As always, our special guest speakers (KFDM-TV’s Meteorologist, James Brown, a/k/a “Mr. Weather”, and Jefferson County’s Emergency Management Coordinator, Greg Fountain), both had a lot to talk about at this year’s event. |
|
They were very entertaining and provided all the attendees with updated information; answered various questions; as well as played out the various “what-if” scenarios, while stressing the importance of hurricane preparedness and the need to develop a plan for your family & pets.
A special thank you to “Ja-Con Mat” and “Graham Benefits” for their generous donation of door prizes—it was appreciated! Everyone in attendance not only enjoyed great steak and seafood, but they also had fun networking with the other ABC members. Thanks again for everyone’s support! |
